Growing up, my mom and I would ALWAYS say “you gotta see it before you see it or you never will see it”(read that again). It’s a lyric from a Karen Clark Sheard song lol. My whole life, I have always visually/physically believed things before seeing things and knew things would always work for my good.
Recently, the word manifestation has been trending and a lot of people are beginning to understand the power of manifesting. I have also seen some negative talk about manifestation and of course the occasional joke. Beginning to write this blog post, Iooked up some definitions of the word because I’m genuinely curious. Join me on my little search and thought process…
manifestation: noun
an event, action, or object that clearly shows or embodies something, especially a theory or an abstract idea.
what does the Bible say about manifesting?
“According to your faith, shall it be done to you.” – Matthew 9:29
Faith here refers to believing in the power God has given you. If you lack the faith that you can even achieve something, that something will remain elusive to you. But the moment you develop faith in your God-given power, strength, and abilities, you will begin to manifest your desires.
As I was researching I came across a video that said “Christians stop “manifesting” what you want and trust God”. In my head, I was like…???? when I manifest, I am trusting God. I’m believing that His plans will come true. But, then I began to understand that’s not the same for everyone. As I watched the video, the speaker went on to say that Christians nowadays are relating manifesting with the law of attraction which is new age and makes it idolatry. A lof the quotes and examples he gave were people believing more in their own power rather than God’s. Which I definitely understand. However comma…. he without a doubt could’ve titled that video something different and explained better 💀. I’m not going to lie when that video popped up, below it in the “people also ask” was the question “is it a sin to manifest?” and I immediately ran to my mom lol.
So this led me to my next google search…
After the conversation with my mom, I definitely had some key takeaways I wanted to share that I feel like a lot of us don’t realize when we use the word manifestation.
Prayer is a conversation with God and manifestation is a demonstration of what you’re asking God for.
Personally, my manifestations are to God, not myself. without God I am nothing.
Anything I pray for, I ask God to only grant it if it is in His will.
Remember it is not your power, but God’s power that you’re manifesting.
This blogpost was by no means me trying to be the manifest monitor but I got curious when I started to research and wanted to share my findings. 🙂
