trust the process

The other week I saw a tweet that said “When you put a cake in the oven you know if you open the oven door every 5 minutes you prolong the baking process; so stop checking on your other creations. You asked for it; it’s done…it’s in the process of becoming.”

I’m a firm believer that most of the tests God gives you are testing your trust and faith in him. Personally, when something bad happens I always pray and immediately praise and thank God for correcting the problem in advance because I know if he did it before He’ll do it again.

For example, during my first semester at Howard when it was time to register for Spring classes I couldn’t because I had a hold and had to pay $5,000+ in like a week or I was literally going to have to go back to North Carolina. But, God came through and I was able to stay and my bill was paid in full. I was SHOOK! I knew God would take care of me but WHEW CHILE it was honestly a struggle to trust the process. Again, in the Spring semester I did not finish paying my bill in time so a hold was placed on my account right before registration for Fall 2018. By the literal grace of God, my hold was lifted and I was able to register ON TIME! Also it’s crazy how God works. A couple weeks ago I randomly got an email for a scholarship and the rest of my Spring bill was taken care of. I often try to stay calm in troubling and discouraging situations because literally anything I’ve wanted or anything God has told me is for me ALWAYS comes to full fruition.

It’s VERY important to remember that faith without works IS DEAD! I’m sure my financial aid holds would not have been lifted or I would not have gotten a scholarship without actively calling, emailing, and taking daily trips to the financial aid office. Of course I just wanted to lay in my bed and cry about the situation, but at the forefront of my mind was the fact that God has me covered and faith without works is dead, so I didn’t have a choice but to get to work.

So, this is for everyone that is having trouble trusting the process. It will come to pass… IN YOUR FAVOR and in due time! Remember to trust God’s timing! I promise it may seem like forever and it may even feel like God has forgotten about you. But, when he comes through, it’s always perfect timing! Remember, we are following God’s plan, not our own. Remember to thank Him in advance and genuinely believe that it will happen in your favor! If it’s for you, it will NOT pass you! I promise! “Your bag was secured before the ends of the earth were even decided on. You’re chasing things that are ALREADY yours. Walk in your purpose. Align yourself with the things you know you’re called to do. Stop stressing over things that have already been written, just walk in it.”
